As a constitutional conservative, I've been labeled as one who clings to God and guns. Then I was called a tea party bagger. Next I'm laughingly mocked as a right-wing nut. Even the fake news adds a guilt trip of being privileged because I was born Caucasian. So, now I'm a white supremacist who is also an oppressor?

I'm criticized as a patriot who sees America as exceptional and blessed because our forefathers prayed and fasted by God's guidance in writing our present Judeo-Christian laws based on biblical beliefs.

As a baby boomer, I'm insulted as being a white nationalist because I'm proud of my dad and uncle's military service in WWII. Also, my grandfather sailed on an Army troop ship to France to help defeat the Germans in WWI. If it weren't for their "old-white-man's" sacrifice overseas, our current millennials could easily be speaking German or Japanese. Notice that the radical left's pattern of constant ridicule is a form of persecution against conservatives. Beware, Americans, that we are in a daily spiritual warfare against the liberal progressives who seek to destroy and reset our Christian heritage.

Thank you for publishing the story last Sunday ("Support building to return Clingmans Dome to original Cherokee name" by staff writer Ben Benton) about Kuwohi mountain. The large article and getting front page coverage are meaningful to me, being a Cherokee descendant from both the east mountains of that region and the Oklahoma reservation.

I feel at home, having generationally made our way back to Chattanooga, and seeing our Times Free Press publish this in our local community makes me feel a more substantial connection.

Mentone postmaster lauds mail service

It is a great honor to serve Mentone, Ala., as your postmaster. In my years with the United States Postal Service, I have seen firsthand the role the Postal Service plays connecting neighbors and our community to the nation.

Our post offices serve as a lifeline for our small businesses to reach customers, no matter where they are. Under Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's leadership and Delivering For America, the Postal Service's 10-year plan, we are maintaining universal six-day mail delivery and expanded seven-day package delivery, stabilizing our workforce, and spurring innovation to meet the needs of our modern customers.

Just as the Postal Service continues to provide a vital service for our nation, the staff of the Mentone Post Office will proudly continue that same public service in this community.

On behalf of the 650,000 women and men of the United States Postal Service, I thank you for continuing to support the Postal Service. Providing reliable mail delivery while strengthening the future of this treasured institution is our commitment to you.
