SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK (March 12, 2022) – A Long Island man identified as Timothy Baumann was seriously injured in an industrial accident after falling off of a conveyor belt at Rason Asphalt.

Suffolk County police officials are saying that the accident took place around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11. Timothy Baumann was working at Rason Asphalt when he fell from the conveyor belt under unclear conditions.

He was taken to the Nassau County University Medical Center in East Meadow in a medical helicopter with serious injuries. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified of the incident that injured Timothy Baumann and they are investigating.

A full investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
