You'll need to check out these details before splashing out on the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.

The fully electric compact crossover SUV segment has been on the rise with quite a lot of offerings from the brands Hyundai, Kia, and Ford. To bank on the growing importance of the segment, Chevrolet is back with the 2022 Bolt EUV. Launched for a base selling price of $33,500, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV comes with the 200 hp single electric motor setup and gets the FWD drivetrain as standard.

Offered in three trim configurations, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV comes with the quirky exterior styling, a beautifully laid-out cabin, and a long list of standard features. This makes it a perfect choice for family buyers who want the versatility of an electric SUV without breaking the bank. The capable infotainment system and the available semi-autonomous driving mode are a plus point too. Competing with the likes of Hyundai Kona Electric, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Tesla Model Y, here are 10 things you need to know before buying the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.

All the trims of the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV come with the same 65-kWh battery pack and that helps it to give out an estimated range of 247 miles. Even though the range was on par with most of the segment rivals, the Tesla Model Y offered an even better range of 326 miles.

The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV gets both 120-volt or faster 240-volt charging. According to Chevrolet, the 2022 Bolt EUV could do DC fast charging which will give 95 miles of driving range in just 30 minutes of charging. The combined MPGe rating of 115 MPGe is pretty decent too.

Being a fully electric subcompact crossover SUV, the buyers would expect it to be quite good in terms of outright acceleration. With the single electric motor producing 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque mated to a single-speed transmission and FWD drivetrain, this SUV could hit the 0-60 MPH mark in 6.8 seconds.

The quarter-mile run takes 15.3 seconds at 92 MPH and that is on par with most rivals as well. However, the Tesla Model 3 offers the best 0-60 MPH time of 5.1 seconds and the quarter-mile time of 13.8 seconds.

The standard features list on offer with the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is going to entice many prospective buyers. Even the base LT trim of the Bolt EUV comes loaded with many features like 17" silver painted aluminum wheels, all-season Michelin tires, LED headlights, LED taillights, and heated and powered side mirrors with LED indicators.

The more expensive Premier trim gets more features like luggage rack rails, chrome body side moldings, and a few more goodies. The buyers can also opt for the optional convenience package priced at $1,695 which offers 17" dark painted aluminum wheels with silver painted inserts along with many other interior upgrades.

Safety is one of the most important aspects of any car and thankfully the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV doesn't disappoint in this regard. It comes loaded with most of the driver-assistance techs like automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, forward collision monitoring, and lane keeping assist.

If you want the capable Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving mode, you would need to get the Launch Edition trim. It is also available as an option with the other trims. All the basic safety features are onboard too. However, it hasn't been crash-tested by both the NHTSA and IIHS yet.

Even though the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV doesn't come with an impressive warranty coverage like that of the Hyundai Kona Electric, it is still adequate for the segment. The Bolt EUV gets a limited warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles and a powertrain warranty for 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The complimentary maintenance is available for the first maintenance visit and the electric component warranty is for 8 years or 100,000 miles. The Hyundai Kona Electric has a limited warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles and a powertrain warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles. There is superior complimentary maintenance coverage as well.

The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is a 5-seater subcompact crossover SUV and the great interior packaging helps in accommodating five passengers with reasonable comfort. The front row offers 40" headroom and 44.3" legroom, making it more spacious than the front seats of the Hyundai Kona Electric and Tesla Model 3.

The multiple cupholders and bottle holders coupled with many other cubbyholes for storing the knickknacks are useful too. The rear seat offered the best in class headroom and legroom as well. The shoulder room for both the rows were decent too. However, the cargo capacity of 16.9 cu ft isn't the best.

The 10.2" touchscreen infotainment system of the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV comes stacked in the center of the dashboard, and it gets all the relevant techs and features. The standard features list includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM radio, navigation, Amazon Alexa, and wi-fi hotspot connectivity.

There is also a smartphone app support for both Android and IOS and that helps to provide many more connectivity features too. There is a 6-speaker audio system as standard, however, there is no other optional audio system upgrade for audiophiles.

The interior of the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV doesn't look drab like some of the other cheaper offerings from the Chevrolet stable. Step into the cabin, and you would notice the chunky leather-wrapped steering wheel, beautiful silver accents, and an infotainment system that is present in the center of the dash.

The full-black interior with the striking silver accents makes the cabin look and feel a bit sportier than most of the competitors. The funky AC vents and the clean dashboard design gel well with the overall design language of the ride too. It also gets a more modern push-button gear selector and the geometric seat pattern looks very different too.

Launched at a base MSRP of $33,500 for the LT trim, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is the cheapest subcompact crossover fully electric SUV in the segment. Even with such a low price tag, the Bolt EUV is reasonably powerful and comes with all the relevant techs and features that you could expect from the segment.

The more expensive Premier trim gets even more interior and exterior features as standard. The additional price difference between the Premier and LT trim is well justified for the more equipment the former comes with. The low price of all the optional features and packages is a boon too.
